West Seattle Contemporary

This steel-structured home was newly built with a blank pallet for the landscape. The objective was to create a modern garden and paver driveway that compliments the sleek architectural style of the house and include required water retention planters. Modern rectangular concrete stepstones incorporate strong lines leading to the entry. The modern garden includes ornamental grasses, bamboo screens and warm crushed gravel xeriscaping, as well as  seasonal color interest to soften the sleek concrete styling.

The back garden combines moss-lined pavers that lead to Corten steel planters that retain the edge of this steep slope property. The planters are filled with ornamental grasses, perennials and evergreen shrubs that wrap around and emphasize the panoramic Puget Sound and Seattle Skyline view.

A vibrant steel circular firepit provides a cozy anchor spot to watch sailboats and marine activity on the Sound.
